The comeback helped Tech starter Davis Martin recover from a tough first few innings to notch his 6th win on the season. Through 6 complete innings Martin gave up 5 runs off 7 hits. All of that came in the first 4 innings though.

Martin settled into a groove striking out the side in the 5th and 6th innings. 6 straight strike outs. That's how you finish an outing. Martin was replaced to start the seventh inning by Robert Dugger, who tossed two scoreless innings before handing off to Jacob Patterson in the ninth.

Texas reliever Eric Dunbar took the loss for the Longhorns after allowing a run off two hits over his two-thirds of an inning. He was the first of six Texas relievers to come on in relief of Cooper.
