Shane Broyles went 7.2 innings to lead the Texas Tech Red Raiders to a 5-2 victory over St. Johns. Broyles finished the game allowing only two runs on four hits. Brolyes also had three strikeouts and only two walks in the game. Broyles game was near perfect until the last two batters he faced who were the 2 runs that scored for St. Johns.

Scott LeJeune sac flied in the first inning to score Jamodrick McGruder, who was walked to lead off the first. The hit was LeJeune's 100th career RBI.

The Red Raider had 7 hits on the afternoon, including 2 hits from Barret Barnes who recorded his 40th multi-hit game.
