A pair of Texas Tech baseball players received weekly national awards as junior center fielder Barrett Barnes was named the College Sports Madness Big 12 Player of the Week and redshirt sophomore right-handed pitcher Duke von Schamann was named to College Baseball 360 Primetime Performers list.

Barnes batted .438 (7-for-16) with seven runs, two doubles, two home runs, eight RBI, six walks, four stolen bases, .591 on-base percentage and .938 slugging percentage in five games from last Friday to Monday.

von Schamann continued his dominance on the mound posting his second straight start without allowing an earned run while pitching seven shutout innings in Tech's 4-1 win over the Red Storm. This season von Schamann is 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA in two starts with 14 innings pitched, one run allowed (unearned) on four hits with 11 strikeouts and one walk.

Texas Tech will be back in action this weekend at the Houston College Classic where they will take on No. 4 Arkansas (Fri., Noon), No. 5 Rice (Sat., 7 p.m.) and Houston (Sun., 2:30 p.m.). All of the Red Raiders games in Houston can be seen on ESPN3.com.
