Texas Tech junior center fielder Barrett Barnes has been recognized by College Baseball Daily, as the publication ranked him No. 19 on its Preseason Top 100 Players list.

Barnes became the second Red Raider recognized by CBD as he joins All-American closer John Neely (No.88) as Texas Tech players who have been named to the 2012 preseason honor roll.

It’s the second consecutive year Barnes was named to the top 100 players list, as College Baseball Daily tabbed him as the No. 32 preseason player prior to his sophomore season in 2011.

Barnes enters 2012 having played in 114 games as a Red Raider with a .316 batting average (136-for-431) with 118 runs, 34 doubles, three triples, 34 home runs, 91 RBI, 81 walks, 31-of-36 stolen bases, .575 slugging percentage and .439 on-base percentage.
