Texas Tech junior right-handed pitcher Trey Masek has been named the 74th best prospect for the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft by Perfect Game.

Masek was the fifth highest Big 12 Conference player named to the “Top 100” list. He was also recently selected as the No. 28 prospect from the Cape Cod League by Perfect Game.

He joins Barrett Barnes as the only Red Raiders to be named to Perfect Game’s “Top Prospects” list from the Cape Cod League since 2008. Barnes was ranked No. 66 in 2010.

Masek has made 34 appearances in his two-year Red Raider career that includes a 7-8 record, 4.12 ERA with 17 starts and 17 relief opportunities. Last season alone he went 2-4 with a 3.40 ERA in 18 appearances (6 starts) with 53 innings and 46 strikeouts with only 20 walks allowed.

Last month he was named the No. 16 prospect in the Cape Cod League by Baseball America.
