Konner Wade pitched near perfection in the Arizona Wildcats 5-1 win over the South Carolina Gamecocks, pitching his third complete game in a row.

Arizona will need performances like Wade’s if they hope to dethrone the two time defending NCAA champions. Arizona’s coach Andy Lopez was quoted after the game as saying, “Tonight’s over. It’s done with. You’ve got to come out tomorrow and play good baseball. We understand where we’re at. These guys understand who they’re playing. They understand it’s not a tournament somewhere in South Dakota.”

Arizona understand that South Carolina have been the come back kids all tournament long, trailing in four of their five college world series games this year. South Carolina, given their recent history knows how to win a tight game, and knows how to play when the pressures on.

Arizona has a chance to close out the series tonight. Listen live on 1340 the fan.
