The Cooper Pirate baseball team traveled to Disch-Falk Field to play in the class 3A state semi-finals Wednesday.  To advance they would need to defeat an experienced Texarkana Pleasant Grove team that was looking to repeat as state champions.  The walks and errors made by Cooper dug the team in too deep of a hole as Pleasant Grove proved too much as they went on to win 7-3.

The Pirates pitching, which had been its staple during the year, really struggled on Wednesday.  In an uncharacteristic outing, both Ryan Moseley and Scotland Church couldn't find their locations as they combined for 10 walks.

Chase Freeman, Tyler Parr, and Chandler Patterson each had a RBI in the game for Cooper, but that was all they could get as the offense struggled to find any kind of rhythm.  As a team, the Pirates were only able to combine for three runs on just seven hits, while their counter part had seven runs on just six hits.  The Pirates end the season with a 31-11 record.
