Dirk Nowitzki was on fire last night as he scored 27 points to lead the Dallas Mavericks to a 112-103 win over the Golden State Warriors.

Brandan Wright, a former Golden State lottery pick had 16 points and nine rebounds. Jason Kidd chipped in 12 assists, 10 rebounds and nine points to pace the Mavs against the Warriors.

The win against the Warriors moved the Mavericks one step closer to making the playoffs. Before the win, the Mavs were 3 1/2 games behind the Memphis Grizzlies for 5th place in the Western Conference. With the Grizzlies going down to San Antonio earlier in the day, and the Mavs winning, they jumped to just 1 1/2 games behind for 5th place. Which is huge considering how close the race is right now,  considering both Houston and Denver and just a 1/2 game behind Dallas.

With the departure of Lamar Odom, the Mavs are simply looking to stay focused and return to the playoffs.
