The Dallas Mavericks were without starting point guard Jason Kidd for the second game in a row but that didn't slow the Mavs' offense  down as it rolled right along, getting a season-high in points for a half with 66 as well as for a game with 122 in a 122-99 domination of the Phoenix suns.

Vince Carter was the story of the night as he racked up 21 points against Phoenix, the irony being that he is still technically on their pay roll.

The Suns were short handed as Steve Nash missed the game with a bruised thigh suffered in the Sun's victory over Memphis. The Mavs had their own injury troubles as Jason Kidd missed his second game because of a strained calf.

It seems that the Mavericks are starting to pull things together this season, which couldn't have happened soon enough considering the length of this shortened NBA season.
