The Houston Astros were trying to avoid their fifth straight loss as they took on the Seattle Mariners on Monday.  The Astros sent starter Dallas Keuchel to the mound in hopes to get the team back in the win column.  Seattle had other plans though as they beat Houston 3-2.

Keuchel (Pictured on the Left) had a strong outing as he went six innings giving up one earned run on seven hits.  His counter part for the Mariners, Hisashi Iwakuma, was able to go seven innings while shutting out the Astros and holding them to just four hits.

Jose Altuve had a sacrifice fly that scored a run in the third and Carlos Corporan drove J.D. Martinez home from second with two outs in the ninth, but it proved too little.  The Astros fall to 22-43 on the season which puts them 17 games out of first place.  They will look to get back on track as they play game two of the three game midweek series.  First pitch is set for 9:10 pm from Safeco Field in Seattle.
