The Houston Astros Lose 4-1 to the Baltimore Orioles Despite Harrell’s Strong Outing
The Astros faced off against the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday night from Minute Maid Park in Houston. They sent ace Lucas Harrell to the mound in hopes to extend their six game win streak.
The Orioles had other plans though thanks to some clutch hitting and pitching. Harrell (Picture on the Right) didn’t allow much as he went seven innings while giving up one earned run on five hits, but some less then average defense doomed the Astros. Baltimore started it off by taking a 2-0 lead in the top of the third, thanks to an error by Houston first baseman Chris Carter. They would get another run in the eighth and ninth but those would just be insurance as the Astros could only manage one run for the game. Houston’s offense continues to struggle as they could only manage five total hits in the contest. They are in the bottom half of the league in all batting statistics this year.
Chris Tillman was on the hill for Baltimore as he was looking for his fifth win of the season. He would earn that win going seven innings giving up just one run on four hits. His defense was a little more reliable as they had no errors in the game while Harrell’s had two errors which were responsible for two of Baltimore’s four runs.
The Astros will look to get back in the win column as they play game two of this three game series against the Orioles. First pitch is set for 7:10 pm on Wednesday night from Houston.
