The Houston Astros Lose Again as They Fall to Former NL Foe the St. Louis Cardinals

The Houston Astros have not exactly had the season they had hope for as they are just 29-49 on the year.  They were trying to get back in the win column as they took on former National League foe the St. Louis Cardinals.  They had other plans though as they beat the Astros 13-5 last night.

Astros starter Lucas Harrell was on the mound last night but had one of his rougher outings of the year.  He went just 3.1 innings while giving up seven runs on seven hits and he also gave up four walks in the game.  The bullpen struggled as well as they allowed six more runs in less than six innings of work.

Brett Wallace led Houston on the offensive end as he had a two-run triple in his first game back with the Astros.  The hit helped Wallace break an 0-for-24 slump against Major League pitching.  That was about all they could get though.

The Astros will try and split this two game midweek series with the Cardinals as they play game two tonight.  First pitch is set for 7:10 pm from Minute Maid Park in Houston.
