The Houston Astros Take a 9-4 Win Over the Seattle Mariners

The Houston Astros offense came alive on Saturday as they were able to plate nine batters in their 9-4 win over the Seattle Mariners.  Rookie George Springer (pictured on the right) led the way for Houston offensively as he had his first multi-home run game of his career as he knocked in five RBI's on their way to the victory.  He had missed the previous two games of this series due to right hip flexor injury that he suffered in the team's previous series against the LA Angels.

"That's pretty impressive," Astros manager Bo Porter said. "To sit out for a couple of days and the first pitch you see, to hit it out of the ballpark the opposite way, that's definitely good to see.  Today was a really good team win all the way around."

Brett Olberholtzer earned the win for Houston as he went six innings while giving up two runs on six hits and struck out eight Mariner batters.  The Astros bullpen also pitched well yesterday as they finished the final three innings by giving up one run on two hits on Saturday.

"That wasn't much of a game," Mariners manager Lloyd McClendon said. "We didn't give ourselves much of an opportunity.  We've had our share of close games this year, and that's a little tough to handle.  Nobody ever wants that type of game, but when it happens, it happens.  You move on and get ready for the next one."

The Astros will wrap up their weekend series with the Mariners today with first pitch for that game set for 3:10pm and the pregame set to start 2:45pm.  You can catch all the action right here on Sports Radio 1340 the FAN.
