The Houston Astros had previously lost ten of their last eleven games against their new division foe, the Oakland Athletics.  Their luck was a little better as they won on Tuesday night with a final score of 5-4 and snapped a six game losing streak.

Houston's starter Jordan Lyles (Pictured on the Left) broke a nine start win less streak as he went seven innings while giving up just one run on five hits.  Oakland's starter Bartolo Calon did not have as much luck last night.  He was only able to go four innings and gave up five runs on seven hits.

Brandon Barnes led the way for Houston on the offensive end last night as he went two for four with two RBI's in the win.  They will have to keep up their strong starting pitching and timely pitching by the bullpen to take this series with the A's.  First pitch for tonight's game two of the midweek series is set for 9:05 pm from O.co Coliseum in Oakland.
