As of Friday, July 5th, Dwight Howard was still looking through his options as the coveted big man tried to figure out what team was for him.  As of 7:57 pm that night he had a home.  That destination was Houston, Texas.

The All-Star center let his decision be known via twitter as he tweeted, "I've decided to become a member of the Houston Rockets. I feel its the best place for me and I am excited about joining the Rockets and I'm looking forward to a great season.  I want to thank the fans in Los Angeles and wish them the best."

With this acquisition the Rockets become one of the early favorites in the Western Conference.  Head coach Kevin McHale will have to keep Howards ego in check if he doesn't want to become the next coach that "got fired" because of the three time defensive player of the year.    Howard says however that this move was all about winning a championship, which is exactly what he will need to do if he wants to get the critics off his back.  Well that and maybe make just half of his free throw attempts he takes this year.

No matter what the outcome of the next Dwight Howard experiment, once thing is for sure.  There is going to be plenty of headlines coming out of Houston in the upcoming season, whether it be good or bad.
