The Houston Texans Drop Their Ninth Straight Game at the Hands of the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday

The Houston’s Texans season hit rock bottom on Sunday if it hadn’t already as the team dropped their ninth straight game at the hands of the other equally pathetic Jacksonville Jaguars.  Though neither team put on a display offensively, Jacksonville was able to pull out a 13-6 win on Sunday to hand the Texans their worst losing streak in franchise history.

“Obviously, we didn’t execute worth a darn offensively,” head coach Gary Kubiak said after the game. “Defensively, we are on the field pretty much the whole football game. We battled our tails off. We can always do things better but offensively, we just executed extremely poorly on some of the simple things that you have to go do to be successful. We didn’t do them very well.”

Offensively, Case Keenum (Pictured on the left) got the start for Houston but would struggle mightily.  He finished the day throwing 18-34 for just 169 yards along with an interception.  On a day Keenum will want to forget, he could no rhythm as he averaged only five yards per completion.  As a team they were only able to produce 218 yards of offense against a defensive unit that has given up scores of 45, 42, 37, 35, and 34 this year.

With the way the team has been playing, it is almost a sure thing that head coach Kubiak will not be back next season.  In a year that started with so much promise has completely fell apart.  The Texans 2-9 record is now tied with those Jaguars and the Atlanta Falcons for the worst records in the NFL.
