The Lady Raiders Face Off Against the Longhorns in Austin on Wednesday

Candi Whitaker probably did not see her first year getting off to the start it has.  After 21 games the Lady Raider sit at just 6-15 and are currently riding an eleven game losing streak.  But they can get their season going in the right direction with a win when they head to Austin on Wednesday.

The Texas Longhorns come into this game sitting at 14-7 on the year and 5-4 in Big 12 play.  They will be looking to bounce back from a loss they suffered at the hands of #7 Baylor by a final score of 87-73.  Leading UT is 6'1 junior forward Nneka Enemkpali, averaging 13.4 points per game and adding 9.5 rebounds.

For the Lady Raiders, they are led by junior guard Amber Battle.  On the year she is pouring in 18.3 points which ranks her fourth in the conference in scoring while also averaging 7.9 rebounds.  She was the high scorer and rebounder (19 points and 10 rebounds) in the Lady Raiders 70-62 loss to Kansas last week.  That loss dropped Tech to 0-10 in conference play on the year.

Tip off for this game is set for Wednesday night at 7pm from the Frank Erwin Center in Austin.
