Derek Fisher nailed a three pointer with 3 seconds left to put the Lakers on top of the Mavericks 73-70. The loss snapped the 5 game winning streak for the Mavericks.

Vince Carter missed a potential game tying 3-pointer at the buzzer for the defending champion Mavericks, who lambasted the Lakers in the playoffs last year, sweeping the series.Carter’s desperation try was far off, and the Lakers celebrated their ninth consecutive home victory since Christmas.

Overall, the game was 3 1/2 quarters of terrible offense with the only excitement coming at the end. Dirk Nowitzki had 21 points for the Mavericks and Lamar Odom had ten.

despite the loss, the Mavericks are getting back into championship form, which is incredible considering they are replacing 5 players from last seasons team.
