Rangers starter Justin Grimm struggled to start the game, giving up a run in in the first, second, and third inning.  Luckily for Grimm so would the Mariners starter Joe Saunders who went five innings while giving up six runs on eight hits.  Grimm would settle down and would end up going 6.1 innings while giving up three runs on five strikeouts as the Rangers won the game with a final score of 9-5.

Texas’ offense would prove key in the victory.  Lance Berkman (Pictured on the Right) and Jeff Baker both hit home-runs in the win.  Berkman led the team with three RBI’s on the day as Baker add two RBI’s himself.

The weekend series will continue on Saturday with the first pitch set for 9:10 from Safeco Field in Seattle.  The game can be seen on Fox Sports SW.
