The Texas Rangers Head to LA to Take on the Angels of Anaheim on Friday
The Texas Rangers will try to get back on track after losing their series and their lead in the division to the Oakland Athletics. After losing two of three in Oakland the Rangers are now tied a top the American League west with the A's as both teams are 80-59 on the year.
Texas will now stay out west as they start a three game weekend series with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. They will send Matt Garza to the mound opposite LA's starter and former Ranger C.J. Wilson. Garza (Picture on the Right) is now 3-2 with a 4.04 ERA in eight starts with the Rangers. The lefty C.J. Wilson, who is 0-2 with a 8.63 ERA in six career starts against his former team, will look to find more success than on July 30th when the Rangers rocked him for six runs on eleven hits in just four innings of work.
First pitch for the series opener is set for Friday at 9:05 pm from Angel Stadium of Anaheim.
