The Texas Tech Lady Raider basketball team was back in action on Friday as part of the World Visions Challenge.  They took on Jacksonville as the team was looking to bounce back from a tough 65-56 loss to Arizona on December 15th.  That is exactly what they would do as Candi Whitaker and company were able to take down Jacksonville by a score of 62-48.

"I saw some good things out there," Texas Tech head coach Candi Whitaker said. "I thought we shared the ball well. Some shots didn't go but we had good looks. But proud that we got a win here and got off on a good foot in this tournament."

Offensively for Tech, junior Amber Battle scored a team-high 16 points while redshirt freshman Minta Spears added 13 points in the opening game of the World Vision Challenge.

The team has no time to rest though as they get back in action tomorrow afternoon against Florida Atlantic University with tip off for that game is set for 2pm from the United Spirit Arena.
