The Texas Tech Lady Raiders and The Baylor Lady Bears have a rocky history to say the least. The past is marred by the "Griner punch" and a few upset victories by Texas Tech. On top of all that, Lady Raider head coach Kristy Curry and Lady Bear coach Kim Mulkey have coached together in the pass and have a are rivals to say the least.

In the actual game, Christine Hyde had 15 points to lead the Lady Raiders, as she and the Texas Tech starters played a great game, but lost to the Lady Bears 72-64. The problem for the Red Raiders was the production off the bench, or lack there of, and free throw shooting, which has plagued the team all season. Texas Tech's defense forced 14 turnovers, but the Lady Raiders converted them into just nine points.

The Lady Raiders managed to cut into the Lady Bears lead several times, getting it within 6 points, but with only a little more than a minute to play. The Lady Raiders are playing well, and look to be tournament contenders if they can correct a few nagging issues.

Good thing there was not a repeat of the incident bellow during the game.
