The Texas Tech Lady Raiders Kickoff Big 12 Play Against the Oklahoma Sooners

The Texas Tech Lady Raider basketball team continues to get prepared for Big 12 play as they wrapped up their non-conference schedule prior to the Christmas break.  Up to that point new head coach Candi Whitaker and company are 6-5 on the season.  The schedule does not get any easier for the Lady Raiders as they get set to begin Big 12 play on January 2nd when the Sooners of Oklahoma come to town.

For Texas Tech, junior guard Amber Battle has been the leader for the team as she leads in both points (18.4) and rebounds (9.3) while adding two assists per game as well.  Coach Whitaker will need her to continue to play like that if they want to be able to compete in the tough conference that is the Big 12.  They will get their first crack at that talent on Thursday when they play host to Oklahoma.  Tip off for that game is set for 6:30pm from the United Spirit Arena in Lubbock.
