After an exhilarating 14-0 start, the Texas Tech Lady Raiders finished the season with a 19-13 record. After finishing the season with a 5-13 slump, the Lady Raiders have been selected to play in the WNIT. For their first game in the tournament the Lady Raiders will host Easter Illinois who comes into the game with a 22-8 record.

Tech head coach Kristy Curry was quoted as saying, "This is a great opportunity for our team to go out and win another game and play in the postseason. It's a great chance to go out and win a championship for Texas Tech." The game against Eastern Illinois is Techs third appearance in the WNIT. The Lady Raiders have a 2-2 overall record in the tourney. The match-up with Eastern Illinois will also be the first meeting between the two programs.

If Tech defeats Eastern Illinois, they will take on either Tulane or Mississippi Valley State. Tickets are currently on sale at Texas Tech's athletic website.
