A new, modern-day telling of the story of Jackie Robinson will hit theaters next year. Robinson was first black major league baseball player in 1947 with the Brooklyn Dodgers. From the trailer released, the movie will not just depict Robinson's time with the Dodgers, but his journey through the minor leagues, including his season with Montreal.

Harrison Ford will play the pivotal role of Branch Rickey, the Dodgers general manager.

The younger generation most likely does not know the story of Jackie Robinson and hopefully this movie will depict the pain and triumph of his journey to the major leagues.
