Three Texas Tech Football Players Undergo Surgery

Allen Corbin,

Three Texas Tech Football players underwent surgeries in Lubbock Tuesday from injuries sustained this season.

The prognosis for Eric Stephens (pictured above), Chris Yeakey, and Zach Winbush are good following the procedures at the NorthStar Surgical Center in Lubbock performed by Texas Tech’s team orthopedic surgeon Dr. Kevin Crawford.

Stephens had a season ending knee injury October 15 against Texas A&M and was on pace to rush for over 1,000 yards on the season. He had four 100-yard games rushing with 8 touchdowns in his first season as starting Running Back.

Texas Tech’s offense has struggled without Stephens in the backfield only scoring 22 points a game in the six games since the injury as opposed to the 45 points per game with him in the backfield.

Texas Tech (5-6) takes on No. 18 Baylor (7-3) Saturday at 6 p.m. in Arlington at Cowboys Stadium with the Red Raiders in need of one win to be bowl eligible.
