Woods (Pictured on the Left) and Mickelson both shot +1 (71) yesterday which was six shots off the lead.  That lead belongs to the Aussie Adam Scott who shot a -5 (65) on Thursday.  Scott, who won the Masters this year, is looking for his first multi-major win season of his career.  Now Tiger was able to play the front nine bogey-free, but really struggled getting to the green as he hit only 50 percent of the greens on Day 1.  He had a -1 score in the bag until he double bogeyed hole number 18.  Phil on the other hand struggled right out of the gate as he bogeyed the Par 3 third and double bogeyed the fourth hole.  He would recover but on a trick shot he normally makes, he ran into some more trouble.  After missing the fairway left on the 18th hole, Mickelson tried to hit a risky second shot through the trees, but he didn't make it out. He played his third into the fairway, though he wasn't able to get up and down for bogey.

Both Woods and Mickelson will have plenty of ground to make up, with little room for error as the cut line is currently at +2.  The number one and two ranked players in the world are really going to have to put together solid rounds if they want to catch Adam Scott.

Round two gets underway today at Oak Hill Country Club as coverage can be seen on TNT.
