Tiger Woods Misses Cut at PGA Championship
Tiger Woods missed the 36-hole cut Friday afternoon at the PGA championship being played at the Atlanta Athletic Club. It was his third missed cut in a major championship, and the first in his 14th PGA Championship.
Woods shot 3-over-par 73 on the second day of play to add to his opening-round 77 for a total of 10-over 150, missing the cut by six strokes.
It was just the seventh time in 260 starts as a pro on the PGA Tour that Woods failed to advance after the 36-hole cut. As previously mention it was his third missed cut as a pro in a major championship, with the others coming at the 2006 U.S. Open and the 2009 British Open.
What’s next for Woods is unknown as the 35-year-old did not commit to next week’s Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, N.C., which means he won’t be eligible for any of the four-tournament FedEx Cup playoff events that begin in two weeks.
