Former Texas Tech basketball star Tony Battie resigned with the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday. Battie, who played 38 games last season with Philly, is one of 18 players currently at training camp.

Battie was drafted from Texas Tech in 1997 and was the 5th pick in the first round. He has played 13 seasons in the NBA and has played with five different teams including the 76ers.

He is currently one of 12 players returning from last year's squad who made the playoffs. Should Battie make the team he will enter his 14th NBA season. He is currently the only Red Raider playing in the NBA.
