Torn ACL Ends Chiefs Safety Eric Berry’s Season

Chief’s safety Eric Berry will miss the remainder of the season after tearing his ACL in Kansas City’s Week 1 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Berry was hurt during the first quarter during a block by Bills receiver Stevie Johnson, according to a person who spoke on condition of anonymity because the Chiefs have not disclosed details of the injury.

Berry was entering just his second season after being selected with the 5^th overall pick in the 2010 draft. The strong safety made the Pro Bowl last year after racking up 72 tackles and four interceptions, including returning one pick for a touchdown. He and was being counted on heavily by the defending AFC West champions, who were hammered 41-7 at home by Buffalo.
