In more sad Toys 'R' Us news, the company's founder Charles P. Lazarus passed away on March 22, 2018, at the age of 94.

Lazarus opened the first Toys 'R' Us location in 1957 to keep up with the demand and new trends for toys.

Lazarus had a very interesting philosophy on how to get parents to buy toys.

“If you come to us to buy a toy, nobody makes you buy a toy,’’ he told the documentary filmmaker. “Although over the years, I have taught children to say ‘I need, rather than I want it.’ ”

From the official Toys 'R' Us Twitter account:

Toys 'R' Us announced last week that they would be closing more than 700 stores in the U.S. The company was founded in 1948 and headquartered in Wayne, New Jersey.
