In spite of the collapse by Texas Tech Baseball this season and a mid-season injury, things are still looking up for ace pitcher Trey Masek.

The junior right-handed pitcher has named the No. 81 overall prospect by MLB.com for the upcoming Major League Baseball Draft in June.

Masek is one of the few bright spots for the Red Raiders with a 3-0 record and a 0.92 Earned Run Average in 49 innings. Masek has struck out 46 opposing batters with only 13 walks issued and only .196 opponents batting average.

Masek, who leads the Big 12 Conference with a 0.92 ERA in seven starts and 49 innings pitched, has 48 strikeouts and a 3-0 record while allowing 13 walks and allowing opponents a .196 batting average.

Masek opened the 2013 season with 32 1/3 consecutive scoreless innings pitched – a streak that is currently the longest by any NCAA Division I pitcher this season.

Overall, Masek is the 16th highest ranked collegiate right-handed pitcher while being the fourth highest ranked prospect from the Big 12 Conference.
