The Texas Tech men's basketball team snapped a six game losing streak over the weekend as they were able to knock off the Texas Longhorns by a score of 59-53.  Jaye Crockett led the team in the win as he scored 22 points and added 10 rebounds in his final game at the United Spirit Arena in Lubbock.

The Red Raiders were down 44-37 with 9:23 left in the second half, but Crockett and the rest of the team really played well down the stretch.  Tech pieced together an 18-4 run as Jordan Tolbert followed a Crockett 3-pointer with one of his own with 1:07 left to make it 55-48 and put the game out of reach.

Despite making obvious progress in his first year as Texas Tech head coach, Tubby Smith, with a 14-17 record, is facing his first losing season in 23 years of being a head coach.  The team will have to win the Big 12 tournament this week if they want to keep that streak alive.  The team will get their chance to earn one of those wins on Wednesday when they take on Oklahoma State with tip off for that game is set for 6pm from Kansas City Missouri.
