The Texas Tech men's basketball team kicked off Big 12 play over the weekend as they played host to the undefeated Iowa State Cyclones.  Jaye Crockett scored 20 points and added 11 rebounds and Dusty Hannahs scored 16 points but the Cyclones were too much for the Red Raiders as they pulled away for a 73-62 win.

Iowa State closed the first half on a 15-5 run to raise the lead 44-29.  Iowa State was able to get six steals and scored 12 points off the Red Raiders' eight first half turnovers.  Texas Tech would tie the Cyclones at 50 on a 3-pointer by Crockett with 12:33 left in the second half but the Red Raiders never could take the lead.  Turnovers would be the story of the game as Tubby Smith's squad gave the ball away 13 times in the contest while the Cyclones only committed five.

The Red Raiders will try and get their first Big 12 win on Monday when they play host to the West Virginia Mountaineers.  Tip off for that game is set for 6 pm from the United Spirit Arena and can be seen on ESPNU.
