The Texas Tech men's basketball team will head to Austin to take on the University of Texas over the weekend.  Tubby Smith and the Red Raiders are still looking for their first conference as they lost a heart breaker to West Virginia in OT back on January 6th.  They also are trying to win in Austin for the first time since joining the Big 12 conference back in 1996 as they Red Raiders have lost 17 straight games in the Frank Erwin Center.

Now like the Red Raider's the Longhorns are also looking for their first win in conference play.  They are balanced team as they have five different players averaging double digit points.  Johnathan Holmes leads the team in scoring (13.0) and has scored in ten or more points in seven straight games.  As for Tech, they are led by senior Jaye Crockett (pictured above) who is averaging over 14.1 points per game this year and is second in rebound at 6.4.

Tubby Smith and the Red Raiders currently sit at 8-7 on the year and 0-3 on the road thus far this season.  They did earn one win away from home in the Progressive Legends Classic earlier in the year (76-64 win over Houston) but other than that all of their wins have come at home.  Tip off for Saturday's game is set for 7pm from the Frank Erwin Center in Austin.
