Week 2 Big 12 Power Rankings

The Big 12 went 6-1 in non-conference Week 2 action with the Texas Longhorns the only blemish on the schedule losing 40-21 to BYU on the road. The worst part of the loss was the 500 yards rushing BYU accumulated against the Horns defense. Last night was Lyle Setencich bad for the Longhorns and calls to fire Defensive Coordinator Manny Diaz grew louder.

The only conference game this week was West Virginia falling to Oklahoma 16-7. The Sooner defense had a shutout last week and only gave up an early touchdown to the Mountaineers. TCU lost quarterback Casey Pachall with an arm fracture in a game which should have been a bigger blowout over FCS opponent SE Louisiana.

Baylor and Texas Tech took care of business last night against lesser opponents beating Buffalo 70-13 and Stephen F. Ausin 61-13 respectively. Kansas won their season opener over South Dakota with relative ease 31-14.
