The Wichita State Shockers are continuing a season for the ages as they earned a #1 seed yesterday in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. The Shockers are undefeated with a record of 34-0 and won both the regular season and post-season Missouri Valley Conference championships.

Shocker Basketball Associate SID John Brewer joined Steve Dale on Monday's edition of Sportsline to discuss the Shockers' season.

He had this to say when asked if he, the coaching staff, and the rest of the Wichita State faithful expected to be in the position they are now in.  "We do expect to be here, and it is just a credit to the entire university from our president to our head coach to our athletics director and all our support staffs that if we don't expect to be here then we're probably doing something the wrong way to begin with."

The Shockers are the first Missouri Valley Conference team to earn an NCAA Tournament #1 seed since 1979, as the Shockers will play their opening game against either Texas Southern or Cal Poly.  The Shockers headline four Missouri Valley men's teams that will play in this year's NCAA tournament.  Tip off for that game is set for 6:10pm on Friday, March 21st in St. Louis Missouri.
