The Dallas Cowboys cut one of their most storied players on Tuesday as the front office, aka Jerry Jones, decided that the 16 million against Dallas’ salary cap they would take was too much.  They released the franchise's sack leader as they continue to try and free up room to make some moves in free agency.  The move will allow the Cowboys to save 7.4 million in cap space.

Last season, Ware, 31, missed three games and had just six sacks, the lowest output in his nine-year career.  The seven-time Pro Bowler also had surgery earlier in February to repair nerve damage in his right elbow.  Ware may not have much left in the tank, but could help a team in need of a situational pass rusher.

Dallas attempted to persuade Ware to restructure his contract, but a deal was not reached before the start of free agency on Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET, when NFL teams were required to be compliant with the salary cap.

That brings us to our FAN poll of the day.
