The City of Lubbock along with Daughters of the American Revolution will be holding a Memorial Day service Monday, May 29th at 10 am. The service will be held at the Gazebo in front of the cemetery office located at 2011 E. 31st Street.

The City estimates that there are over 2,100 veterans buried at the cemetery.

“Congressman Jodey Arrington, U.S. Representative, District 19 will be the featured speaker. Girl Scouts of America Troops will place flags on gravesites that have a Veterans Administration Memorial headstone or footstone. The Singing Men of Indiana Avenue Baptist Church will be singing The National Anthem and God Bless America, and The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard will present our Nation’s colors and honor our Veterans with a 21 Gun Salute followed by the playing of TAPS. “

The public is welcome and encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for the event.
