The rumors have been found true. Former Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens is heading back to Dallas, specifically the north suburb of Allen, Tx, as the new wide receiver for the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League.

Owens, 38, made the announcement Wednesday night in a 22-second video linked to his twitter account. He will join the Allen Wranglers as both a player and a part-owner.

"It's official, Owens said. ”It just went down. I'm headed back to Texas. That's right, IFL, here I come."

Owens played three seasons for the Cowboys from 2006-08 catching 235 passes. He registered at least 10 touchdowns and 1,000 yards in each of those seasons. He was out of football last year due in part to his recovery from a torn ACL.

The Wranglers’ general manger is Cowboys Ring of Honor member Drew Pearson.

Owens will have more than a month to prepare for the upcoming season, which starts Feb. 25 and features 14 games -- seven of which will be played at the Allen Event Center.
