Texas Tech senior offensive lineman LaAdrian Waddle was been named to the Outland Trophy Watch List Thursday by the Football Writers Association of America.

Waddle is a 6-foot-6, 318 pound three-year letterman at left tackle.

He is one of 71 player from across the country, and one of seven from the Big 12,  that have been named to the watch  list which recognizes the nation’s top interior lineman in college football.

Waddle is the fourth Red Raider to be named to the Outland Trophy List over the past decade, joining Lonnie Edwards (2011), Brandon Carter (2009), Louis Vasquez (2008) and Rex Richards (2002).

Waddle has started 27 games in his Texas Tech career and enters his senior season with 25 consecutive starts on the offensive line.

The winner of the 67th Outland Trophy, named after the late John Outland, an All-America lineman at Penn and Kansas at the turn of the century, will be announced on The Home Depot College Football Awards on Dec. 6.

The Outland Trophy presentation banquet, sponsored by the Greater Omaha Sports Committee, will be held on Jan. 10, 2013, in Omaha, Neb.
