The annual Lubbock Heart Walk is this Saturday, Oct. 29 at Texas Tech University's Frazier Alumni Pavilion.

Heart disease and stroke are America's number one and number five killers. The American Heart Association has created the Heart Walk as its main event to raise much-needed funds.

It is designed to promote a heart-healthy lifestyle, which includes physical activity. The whole family will enjoy this fun and supportive event.

The American Heart Association is the largest voluntary health organization working to prevent, treat and defeat heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases. These diseases claim more than 813,804 American lives each year.

You are invited to accept the challenge to help fight heart disease and stroke.

You can register now at the official Heart Walk website. If you cannot make it out but still want to help, you can donate to the cause.

Share your Heart Walk experience on social media with the hashtag, #LubbockHeartWalk.
