Texas Tech Red Raider Softball looks to bounce back this week in a Las Vegas tournament after losing four of its first five games of the season last weekend. The Red Raiders will compete in the Louisville Slugger Desert Classic at Stephanie Lynn Craig Park against six different opponents in the three day tournament.

On Friday, Texas Tech will face Ohio State at 1:15 p.m. Central time and Long Beach State at 5:45 p.m. Central time. Saturday they face Idaho State and Portland State, and on Sunday face DePaul and Utah State to wrap up the tournament.

The tournament will feature three teams who made the NCAA Tournament last season (Long Beach State, Portland State, and DePaul) and will pose a similar challenge to the Red Raiders from last weekend's tournament where Tech went 1-2 against 2011 NCAA Tournament teams (Stanford, Tennessee, and San Diego State).

Texas Tech will play one more tournament away from Lubbock next week as they will face Texas State, UTEP, North Texas, and Stephen F. Austin in the Texas Shootout in Waco. Texas Tech opens their home schedule March 2nd hosting Binghamton and UT-Arlington in the Jeannine McHaney Memorial Classic at Rocky Johnson Field.
