Texas Tech Track and Field Ranked No. 9 in Latest Poll
Texas Tech Track and Field are ranked in the Top 10 this week by a national poll. The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association rankings released on Monday placed the Red Raider track program for the eighth straight week in the Top 10.
The Red Raiders are No. 9 in week 8 of the poll while the Lady Raiders are now No. 11, slipping out of the Top 10. The Red Raiders have now been ranked in the top-10 for 20 consecutive weeks dating back to the 2011 preseason poll released March 23, 2011.
Both teams are preparing to compete in the NCAA West Preliminary meet this weekend, the first step to the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Action at the West Preliminary in Austin, Texas is set to begin Thursday at Mike A. Meyers Stadium on the University of Texas campus.
